Here We Go!
Our first show since finishing up our recordings will be on Friday, November 13 in Canton! We’ll have more info for you as it comes. Should be really exciting (and a little scary) to play some of the new stuff. The CD won’t officially be released for a few, so unfortunately we won’t have new packages on hand. But in honor of our new album ‘Small Small Seeds’, we’re making our first album, The Potential to Fill, available for free download here.
Done.
I just got the final mixes back for the second Of Asaph album, “Small Small Seeds”. They sound great! The whole experience was very different from the first album, which was mostly written in an apartment in Sarajevo, where I was living alone, and recorded almost entirely by myself. Small Small Seeds was written after my wife (the lovely-lady-voice on the album) and I got married, and I got a lot of help on the vocals from about 14 of my friends/family. I think all those factors helped a sense of community & togetherness come through on this album. And as always, Joshua Wheeler at Fitter, Happier Studios did a wonderful job putting up w/ my rag-tag, out-of-tune instruments, and weaving everything together to produce the exact sound I was going for. Hopefully we’ll be able to release the album soon; I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!
Just Finished Recording!
We just wrapped up recording last weekend! It was a ball; we had a makeshift choir of eleven or twelve of our closest friends in to help with some vocals, and it couldn’t have gone any better. Our good friend Josh did an amazing job of capturing the feel we were going for (somewhere between an African sunrise and the climactic scene of “Free Willy”). Excited to hear the mixes. Check out some photos from the experience here.
